Hi this is my first Blog
I have finally decided to keep a journal about what is going on in my life, hoping to share it with friends and family alike. I think this will be fun!
People person, Interior Designer, Wife to 1 husband Jon David,Mother of 1 Jon Jr, Grandmother to 2 (Tyler 10, Trevor) 9),Red Hatter aka Naughty Nora, Christian Clown aka Nauti- Noah
As a fellow boater, as I do my errands around Elizabeth City I enjoy hanging out with like minded people who might need food, grog or clean duds. It makes my mundane chores much more fun.
Seafever needs HELP
Seafever is our boat she is designed by Hugh Angleman and is a South Coaster, a baby sister to the famous Sea Witch design. She is 35 on deck and 42 overall.
She needs extensive work, needs teak decks lifted, to remove rotted ply underneath and she needs a new cabin roof. New electrical and major engine work, & probably a rebuild of her Perkins 108.
We are looking for a museum or non profit to adopt her, and make a difference on this waterway. I would love to see a mini " Clearwater" program teaching young people about this ecosystem and the environment. If you have any suggestions please let me know!
She has been here in the Pasquotank for about 20 of her 39 years. She was built of teak in Saigon, Vietnam in 1969 and sailed on her bottom to the Chesapeake. It is my hope that she will be able to remain here as a teaching vessel, she would definitely be a nice addition to the waterfront, she can be the beauty that she was once again, with enough workers and a budget to get the work done. She is a sound vessel, 38,000 pounds worth, with fiberglass below the waterline. Very Traditional and a wonderful sailer.
